Shul Membership

A community such as ours that is involved in providing so many different projects and programs to its members, doesn't run itself and isn't cost free. In addition to the Rabbi, we also maintain a payroll that includes an administrator, a caretaker, and a catering assistant and cleaning staff. If we add to that the general upkeep costs incurred by any property owner such as water and electricity, as well as general maintenance of the building among others,†you can see that the shul runs up quite a monthly bill just to keep itself running.

The chief source of funds for paying these costs is the membership fees paid by the Kehilla. †At present, there are approximately 200 families that pay membership fees on an annual basis. We are always happy to welcome new members into the Shivtei family!

Who should become a member?

Anyone who comes to Shivtei on a fairly regular basis, whether for tefillot, childrenís services, or just the Kiddush, should help Shivtei by becoming a member. Your membership fees help us fund the activities that we run.

How much is Shul membership?

Membership for a family is 2270 NIS a year.
Membership for a single person is 1135 NIS a year.

How do I become a member?

Membership applicants should send the following material to the shul office:

  • A completed membership form (download here)
  • A copy of your Teudat Zehut (in the case of family membership, please send a copy of both Teudot Zehut)
  • A copy of your Ketuba (in the case of a single membership, please send a copy of a parentís Ketuba)

Your documentation will be reviewed and confirmed, notwithstanding any complications, by Rabbi Beller and the Committee.

More information about the application process is available by contacting the Shul office by email to† This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Building Maintenance Fund (BMF)

The building maintenance fund is an integral part of keeping our shul in the condition that the community expects.† Examples of how this money was used over the last year are 1) replacing an air conditioner compressor and 2) replacing part of a major water pipe.

Members are asked to pay 10,000 NIS to the Building Maintenance Fund. Most of our members pay the BMF over a period of time that suits their financial abilities. Payments can be made over any time period. A payment schedule can be arranged either with the Shul office or with the Shul treasurer Stephen Weil This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We hope you understand how important the BMF is for the future of our shul.

Permanent Seats

There is an option to have a permanent seat in the main Shul. A permanent seat means that your name will be engraved on a plaque and affixed to your seat. Permanent seats cost a one-time fee of 4,000 NIS and must be coordinated with the Shul office. If you would like more information about permanent seats, please contact the office via email to† This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
